Linen is one of the oldest fabrics in the world used for thousands of years. Made from the flax plant it is one of the most sustainable plants in which to derive fabric, needing little water or fertilisers to grow. Like wood, flax even has natural antibacterial properties which is why it is widely used for bandages!
