Our Shop
Timeless Toys is a family owned independent wooden and plastic-free toy shop situated along Portland Road in west Hove, Brighton & Hove. We opened in April 2019 with the purpose to offer the highest quality toys and brands you can trust, who adhere to the highest standards both environmentally and ethically, that won't impact people or the planet negatively, who support people and the planet over profit - all in one shop.

We stock: responsibly sourced wooden toys, organic cotton soft toys, rattles and comforters, natural rubber toys, silicone bath and beach toys, responsibly sourced plastic-free art, craft and sticker sets. We promote battery-free and screen-free activities and toys for children.

Our philosophy is built on 'Healthful Toys'.

We only stock family-owned brands that have the planet and child at the heart of their design and manufacturing. All these brands use sustainably sourced woods, cotton, linen, rubber, silicone, cardboard and stone materials to make their toys. Dyes are water-based. They are PVC, formaldehyde and phthalates free. They inspect their factories for worker welfare and give back to the communities they impact through education, charitable and reforestation projects. They exceed international safety standards and on top of all that, they design multi-award winning innovative and loved toys. Many of the toys are Montessori & Waldorf inspired and all require power by imagination, not batteries.
Many of the toys are out on display so there is no photographic tricks, there are no pink and blue toy distinctions and packaging is not gender stereotyped so you can see what your little ones enjoy playing with. As a former qualified teacher I recommend gifts based on child development, schematic behaviours, age suitability and interests.

We want to raise awareness that plastic toys are the most intensive plastic-use industry globally that requires petroleum to make them. They are a huge contributor to climate change and damage of our eco-system. We want to leave a different legacy to our children through the toys we buy for them.
