Lanka Kade (translated as 'The Sri Lankan shop'), is a Leicester based FairTrade company that work with 10 independent businesses in Sri Lanka that employ over 160 artisans. Founded in 1994 when business partners Upul and Diane returned to the UK having met in Sri Lanka whilst working for the Red Cross. Purchases support the Lanka Kade Educational Foundation providing books, pencils and milk to school children which has resulted in a rise in attendance, health, concentration and exam results!
